Behind the scenes
- "Nobody goes to Earth-97 these days. It's too crowded."
- ―Sam Hamm[src]
- The Earth designation of Earth-97 was first brought up in Crisis Aftermath as the home universe of Mr. Freeze as part of a trivia question. When a fan approached Sam Hamm on Twitter with this term, he jokingly responded saying no one visits "Earth-97" anymore. Seemingly confirming his disinterest in expanding the Schumacher timeline.[1]
- The number 97 references 1997, the year that Batman & Robin was released in theaters, rather than selecting Earth-95, the start year of the divergent timeline with the preceding movie, Batman Forever.
